New Year, New Site, New New New...
Upon a Star. New Beginnings
2020 is already filled with newness for me and my art endeavors. I am stepping out of my comfort zone, and embracing life, by branching out through this new site (prints and originals for sale here!), gallery exhibitions, and new online workshops. I’m taking myself a wee bit serious, people. And for those of you that know me, it’s kinda funny. I’m really just a big kid playing with art, and trying to get through this twisty road of life.
My first step on this new journey is collaborating with my good friend Ivy Newport as a guest teacher in her beautiful monthly StudioWorks Journal. (January 2020) I have been a fan of all things “Ivy” for many years, and I can hardly believe this is happening! I encourage all of you to explore Ivy’s Studioworks Creative Academy to see all of the amazing benefits that membership offers.
The artwork I will be teaching in Studioworks January edition is “Upon a Star” (pictured here). To me, she emulates Ivy’s January theme of New Beginnings and Self Discovery. The lesson is comprised of a supply list with links, image reference, introduction and 2 1/2 hours of videos leading you step by step in creating your very own completed “Upon A Star”. StudioWorks is for all people with an interest in creating. From beginners to experienced artists. Personally, I have been incredibly uplifted and encouraged by the members in the Facebook Group. Everyone has been so supportive and part of the reason I have the courage to do all this.
